The Penn State Berks AIMS (Artificial Intelligence, Modeling, and Simulation) Lab will celebrate AI Week with a slate of events from April 1-5. The Creative Minds AI Challenge for high school students will be held on May 8.

Penn State Berks student startup team Streamline Charging LLC has received national and University-wide recognition for its flexible and affordable electric vehicle (EV) charging solution that transforms the charging experience for apartment dwellers and service station customers.
At the end of 2023, nine student teams consisting of Penn State Berks mechanical engineering and occupational therapy assistant majors presented adaptive equipment designs they created to meet the needs of individuals with physical challenges. Abdullah Konak, distinguished professor of information sciences and technology at Penn State Berks, was recently named the Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology Statewide Faculty Member of the Year. He was presented with the award at the fall IST faculty meeting on Oct. 27.

Senior citizens are often frequent targets of online scams and phishing attacks. A group of Penn State Berks students, under the moniker “Cyber Lions,” aim to raise awareness of cybercrimes and scams targeting seniors and to help protect them from scammers and criminals.
